On your device

RegHex stores puzzle entries, completion history, play times, preferences, local achievement state, and custom puzzles on your device. Built-in gameplay works without a RegHex account or an internet connection.

Optional cloud storage

• Apple: when iCloud is available and enabled for the app, puzzle progress and custom puzzle definitions sync using your private CloudKit database. The publisher cannot browse your private CloudKit records.
• Android: after you grant Google authorization, RegHex can save and merge puzzle progress in its hidden Google Drive app-data folder. It requests only the drive.appdata scope, not access to your ordinary Drive documents. Custom puzzle definitions are not included in the Android backup. On Android, a random identifier for this installation distinguishes its private backup from other devices. It is not used for advertising or analytics.

Cloud transfers use encrypted connections. Apple and Google operate their respective services and process account and service information under their own policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. Cloud sync stays within each ecosystem; RegHex does not link Apple and Google accounts.

RegHex's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google Play services handles optional Google account authorization. The authorization response gives RegHex a token for the requested Drive scope, not your name or email. During this optional authorization flow, Google Play services may send authorization-operation diagnostics and API-usage information to Google to support service reliability and improvement, as described in Google's explanation of Play services data collection. This service telemetry is handled by Google; RegHex does not operate publisher-run analytics or advertising tracking.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you reset/delete it or remove the app's data. Removing an app does not necessarily delete its cloud backup.

• Apple: use Settings → Reset All Progress to remove progress, and My Puzzles to delete custom puzzles. These changes sync when CloudKit is available. Manage the app's iCloud access in device settings.
• Android: disable Automatic sync to stop automatic transfers. Delete Drive backup removes the cloud snapshots currently available to the app and turns automatic sync off on this device. Reset all progress removes local progress and, when sync is enabled, the Drive backup. Delete custom puzzles separately in My Puzzles. You can also remove hidden app data in Google Drive's Manage apps settings and revoke RegHex access from your Google Account.

Devices that remain offline may retain local copies until they reconnect. On Android, other devices can upload those copies again, including automatically while their sync remains enabled. To remove Android progress everywhere, disable sync and reset local progress on every device, then delete the Drive backup; re-enable sync only after removing the copies you intend to delete. Apple and Google's own retention practices apply to their infrastructure.

Sharing puzzles

Sharing exports a text code through your operating system or apps you select. RegHex does not operate a public sharing server or receive the code or destination. A recipient can retain and forward a code you share.

Support and this website

If you email support, the publisher receives your email address, message and attachments. Use only the information needed to explain the issue. Support messages are used to answer requests and retained only as needed for support and applicable recordkeeping; you can request deletion.

This static website is hosted by Cloudflare. It has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, contact or mailing-list forms, or nonessential cookies added by the publisher. Cloudflare may process ordinary delivery and security information, including IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times. Provider processing and retention follow the applicable service configuration and Cloudflare Privacy Policy. These website requests are separate from the app data practices described above.

Contact mihail.duchev@icloud.com about privacy, access, correction, or deletion of information the publisher holds. For private cloud records, use the in-app/provider controls described above because the publisher cannot delete records by looking up your account. Updates to this policy will appear on this page with a revised date.
